Courage and Vulnerability

Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our greatest measure of courage.” “People who wade into discomfort and vulnerability and tell the truth about their stories are the real badasses.” Brene Brown

‘In order for connection to happen we need to be seen. And we need to feel worthy of love and belonging. To step into vulnerability. To let go of control. To invest in a relationship that may or may not work out -this is vulnerability.’

We numb ourselves to avoid vulnerability. But if you numb sadness, fear, anger, you are also numbing joy, laughter, and so forth. To feel vulnerable, to understand and believe you are enough, this is to live.

A paraphrase of the researcher-story teller, Brene Brown.
